Hello, new member here. I found an old thread on this subject, but it didn't answer my question: Which line on the crank pulley indicates top dead center? On my '81 GTV6 I see this:
R|P|F
I think P = TDC, but which line is P? Everything is equally spaced. I'm guessing that the line between P and F is TDC, but I'd rather be sure. Anybody know? Thanks

If you search the board you will find some posts with translations of the Italian abbreviations, but "PF"=TDC, "M" is the maximum advance mark, and R is for the idle ignition retard settings for emissions purposes.

I think the mark between letters R and P is TDC. The mark between P and F is 2 degrees BTDC, your ignition timing set point. You can safely advance ignition timing more, if you use premium fuels.

Use the highest octane fuel you can get at the pump them advance the ignition a few degrees for the best performance.
