I bought an upholstery kit and new foam for my '74 GTV.
Yes, it has the center console from a '71 in it for those who noticed.
I bought a beige Centerline upholstery kit and Mr. FIAT seat foams.
A long time Italian friend of mine who owns an upholstery shop did the assembly.
Huge difference compared to the tired seats that were in the car when I bought it!
The new kits transform the interior of the car.
The driver's seat will have to wait since his shop is overloaded with work.
Compare the drivers (old) to the passenger seat (new), in the second picture.
The guy called me and told me the previous owner simply slipped replacement upholstery over the original upholstery.
Thought I would share.
Cheers!

The car isn't original and it's just a daily driver so I'm not worried about whether it original or not.
It's a '74 with a '71 dash, '71 grill, '71 center console, dellortos, European air box and a European intake manifold and a great sounding exhaust system!
Very fun to drive!
These refinished seats are a HUGE improvement over the very tired original seats that were in the car when I bought it.
The old foam was very worn and the threads of the horizontal ribbing was all rotted away.
The guy at the upholstery shop had to use these buttons to pin the new upholstery down in to the seam.
The kit did not fit the foam correctly otherwise.

In the spirit of seat restoration, I have new seat upholstery kits plus new seat foam, and I am wondering if someone might suggest a cost estimate to have these affixed to "solid" seat frames?
I know this might be related to local factors, but an answer would be greatly appreciated.

Prices can vary widely.
I lucked into a situation with my duetto.
A local Orlando, FL auto upholstery guy quoted me $150 per seat when I brought the foam cushions and the upholstery.
He called me later, very p*ssed off because it was a lot more work than he estimated.
"I WAY under bid that! I'll never do another Alfa spider! Come get your seats!"
The guy who is assembling my GTV seats, is doing it as a side project when has time from all his main upholstery work.
He is swamped with work right now so it will be some time in January before he gets to the last seat.
When he is all finished, I'll let you know what he charges me.

THANKS. As you say, "prices can vary widely."
