There are some great items listed by the seller. It will be interesting to see what kind of prices they will bring?

With all those parts, considering the climate in fakes, someone is bound to clone a car and claim that its a genuine GTA. Caveat Emptor !

Can somebody tell me what's the Max/Min hight for a gta cilinderhead.

In this case there are 2 used heads, so most likely they have been milled once or twice in there lifetime.

Is there enough material left for another overhaul ?

Greetings from holland.

The shorter one looks OEM and the taller one looks like the replica advertised on the Re-Originals site. I have never seen theirs but the picture has the castings around the head bolt holes and plugs to the coolant are definitely the same as theirs. Also their is an alfa part number on the shorter one and looks like none on the taller one. Am i seeing things or is this really an OEM and after market twinplug head?
Standard height is about 112mm. Standard competition prep was to shave about 2mm off the head to reduce combustion chamber size and make it more compact for better flame front & power. One head is an early sandcast one, the other one is likely a later original diecast one. The replica heads sold by AFRA and re-originals are modeled after the diecast ones with GTAjunior port sizes if I am not mistaken.

I was speaking to one race driver at Goodwood this year, while discussing his GTA. He was so dissatisfied with the quality of these Italian repro heads that he commissioned some of his own (although he didn't quite say what was wrong with AFRA heads). Big bucks!
gta heads

Hi!
the original size was 110,6 mm,
I have sold 2 years ago 2 gta heads, one was about 106,7 mm these was on my opinion the upper side of possible skimming, the valve seat had there been shaved a bit, but when you are using the correct pistons, it will the job, esp for racing.

So best regards to all real alfista
zagato^1600, still the owner of 1x 1300 gta car, the 1300 initione racing (testa stretta- most unknown and unseen, tipo 33 wheels) I have sold 2 years ago.
Hi!

My bad. Just measured it. NOS. 110.6mm
GTA head height

112mm must be the the correct height when they came out of the factory. From the several heads i have, two are 110,8mm, one is 111,00mm and one is
almost 112,00 mm. And those heads are used ones ( the best are from low milage Stradale cars) and there was definatly no material welded on those heads. Everything under 109,00 mm should realy be considerd as not very usefull - what do you think? 106,00mm to 107,00mm sounds absolutly crasy, even with custom made pistons. Whats then left from the valve seats?

We treat 110 as the absolute bare minimum on GTA heads to be used. The gas flow also dramically reduces as the head becomes thinner, so fresh heads are always best.
p.s. just looked at the parts for sale - they are in Austria.... where the weird cobble up 1600 GTA wide body is for sale (that I looked at last Christmas)... it had engine spares with it, messed about with heads and other stuff, must be the same parts. They should go with the car in my opinion, especially as the car has little value itself!
Max is correct, the parts are from GTA #613839. The Ebay-seller is a friend of the owner, he also has one GTAJ.
The owner asked me about expected prices, but he did not want to sell the parts directly to me. Should I try to keep them in Austria?
Who else has found the bidding on these items extremely 'interesting'?

Why would 'Bieter 3' bid against themselves?

Why would 'Bieter 6' bid against themselves?

Well, maybe the answers to my questions will surface sooner or later.

Will I be surprised? Maybe not, as I have had dealings with certain Alfa Dealers in England and they have not been honest in my opinion. On 'challenging' them about various anomalies one would be told that 'we run a business' or 'my word is my bond is no longer practiced in England'. Reality?

Would or could an Austrian Alfa dealer be any different?
I was interested in how much these parts sold for but I missed the end of the auction.
Anyone know what the final prices were for the the heads, distributors and sump pans were?
Cheers

The "bidding against themselves" is a function of the Ebay system. If you place a bid, and are the high bidder, and then decide to increase your bid to guard your position as high bidder it shows you as having bid against yourself (it doesn't jack the price up though).
Dear all,

Thanks for your tolerance.

That was my first experience bidding on e-bay. Very interesting.

I only recorded the following numbers:320158056263; 320158056659; 320158056230; 320158056019.

Can anybody supply me with the other item numbers so I can see what prices they obtained?
