Hi from Zimbabwe. I have acquired an incomplete GT 1300 Junior with good body etc, but missing is starter, distributor, alternator, carbs. I have identified that the motor is original 1300cc. Also identified as 1971 by Fusi schedule. I was informed that the motor had been done up! I have the missing ancillaries off a 1750 engine. My question is will the starter (8 teeth, 3 bolt) be suitable? Don’t know number of ring gear teeth! Hydraulic clutch by the way - floor mounted pedals. I would like to crank up motor to check compressions, oil pressure etc before pulling engine out.
Next question - can I use Dcoe 32 or 40 carbs on the 1300?
I have searched BB on starter issue and very little is said about the GT 1300 Junior, smooth nose, hydraulic clutch.
Thanks
Duds

Thank you. I have some posts answering my question regarding starter. If The flywheel and ringear are original then the 8 tooth 3 bolt will do it.
As regards the carbs I have a pair of Weber 32s which I will try

Looks like a 2L GTV badge on the rear windscreen pillar.
Previous owner stuck them on. Also added a few interior items like a center console. My plan is to get it back to original condition. But thank you for pointing that out
