Does any one have a close up picture of the trunk lock assemble on a 1959 750D spider. I bought a new lock and a new release mechanism and the cable hook up between the two doesn't look correct. The lock mechanism just clears the inside of the trunk metal and is in a brace assemble that will not clear the connecter piece.

Hi Jerry,

I can`t believe no one has posted a pic?!?!?

What Jerry (Strider 450) is looking for is a close-up of the "Assembled Locking Mechanism" looking "INSIDE" the "Boot / Trunk".

Thanx in advance.

Great photos.

Does anyone have one of the 'pulley wheel' components they could sell me? My 58 750D is missing the part and the trunk doesn't open well as a result.

I can't find them for sale at any of the usual specialists.

I bid on this, but sadly wasn't able to be online as the auction ended - the pulley wheel went for $46 which was more than I'd put as maximum bid. Didn't think it would go that high!

So still looking...

I'm not surprised - it's the kind of part that would go missing when a car sits in pieces for a long time.

These are also used on ISO Grifos and I have heard that the quality of these reproductions is a bit suspect. Something to do with the cases fracturing, if I remember correctly, but I have no personal experience. Maybe, as fitted to the Giulietta, the mechanism is subjected to less torsional stress and so there will be no problem.
