We set out a while back to change the lower ball joints on the Giulietta. As these things do, the scope of work ballooned a little and now we are thinking we should upgrade the torsion bars while we are there.

Standard torsion bars are 21.5mm diameter.

I don't really want to the pay the $400 ++ for a set of new bigger bars so....

Do any of the other 116 cars come with a larger bar - research tells me that an early GTV6 bar is 23.5.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Does any one have any bigger torsion bars that might suit?

Happy to pay a reasonable amount for the right thing.

Suggestions for upgraded rear coils would be appreciated as well.

I have a pair of 24mm-ish bars sitting at home if you are interested in paying shipping from Vic. I can't remember if they are 24mm or 23.5mm and I forget if they are short or long though...

Beninca's can get custom springs made up to any spec. I believe that is out sourced to a Melbourne spring mob, but Beninca's would probably know where to start with specs. Long ago that was about $300 a pair. King Springs are $220 a pair but I couldn't get any info regarding specs so it's worth the extra to get what you want.

King Springs

I have the lowered King Springs installed in my GTV and are very happy with them. They are a progressive rate spring and are rated from 95-155lbs.

Firm on the street but not harsh yet still very usable for track days.
