As I just purchased said piece, and upon receiving it, just realized that I have
quite a few NOS of same in the boxes of parts from the Old, old, AR dealer here from the late 50's.

Also have about 100 sets of Dynamo carbons, and other very strange items that were sent in the day.
Even RHD Headlamps that promptly went for the UK. Very strange...

Is anybody interested? Price is same as I paid, $ 100 + shipping.

Please let me know.

Regards, Alberto

I posted the photos on parts for sale. Philip, you obviously have first choice.

Alberto, ain´t 100 bucks a bit steep, I mean I know they are rare, but they also are easy to fabricate, ok not stock, but many people here don´t care.....

P.S. This is not a generic comment on other people´s behalf, I´m actually interested myself.....

Hello Dennis, I fully respect and understand what you are saying. It is mostly a matter of the worth of your time.

Besides, unless you have an original, they are impossible to replicate in one hour.
Actually I would place it more at 4 hours, provided you are good at what you are doing.
I will be more than happy to sell you the part for the hood, if you so desire.

I based my price on what I paid for an original, that I did not even know, more were hiding in a box
and totally ignored their use. As I mentioned previously, I bought 'lock stock and barrel' from the AR
dealer here, from way back when, and still have parts that are undecipherable to me.

4 GTA heads with 8 holes, not aware you could run 8 spark plugs in a 4 cylinder car :)
Bought a GTAm, Autodelta car, without even knowing what it was...

Giulia Spider trim support piece

I fully agree with Dennis - $100 for that part is very steep. I bit the bullet and bought one from Alberto, but it did hurt!

Dear Darius and Dennis,

If you have issues with my pricing, I would recommend voicing your kind opinions in private mail, as slightly more sensible
and less offensive.

I usually do not explain my pricing, but in consideration, this time I will.
These are NOS parts, very rare and difficult to find.

The part, is a compound curve in a small piece (strip) of sheet metal that was handmade at the time, as the rest of the car was.
There is the need of an English wheel (or other apparatus), plus the use of a shrinker to add the compound shape and sturdiness
to the part. It is not a regular angle that you can fold while watching TV.
Then, there are dimples for the holes which require the use of a press, then drill the holes.

Clearly, anyone can cobble up a make do part, or even, just use 3 washers.

Darius, today, I will happily refund your money. Please be on the lookout for it. No problem at all.
I am not happy to trade in this manner.

I would just encourage you try making one, and post your process and results.

Clearly as Dennis states " but many people here don´t care...
P.S. This is not a generic comment on other people´s behalf, I´m actually interested myself....." .

Evidently, Dennis, you have posted a survey to have such an impression about the people that own such cars...

Giulia 101 support piece

Alberto, hi: I am sorry for all the aggravation. My comment was not intended to offend you in any way, I was just lamenting about how steep Alfa Romeo prices have increased. Price, as you know, is a result of demand and offer, and has very little to do with the effort needed to replicate a part. If your trim piece was from an 1998 Honda, it would be worth $2 - same effort needed to replicate.

Anyway, if in a market there are enough people to pay a certain price for a product, that that is the market price and I wouldn't sell my stuff below that price, either.

So, I apologize if you felt offended. Let's stay friends, we are a small community on here and there's no need for anguish. Please mail me the part as soon as you can, I decided that $100 was OK to pay for it, and I paid you.

Have a great day and thank you!

Darius.

You´re completely right Alberto, it actually struck me right after I clicked away my post here that I should have sent a PM instead, but than it was too late.
If you wish I´ll remove my post.

As to the survey, nope, I haven´t posted a survey on how many people here like original stock parts or not, but from experience I know many people will settle improvising with self made or aftermarket parts.

I´m among those that love original parts, but being based in Europe, your part would probably cost me around $160-$170 alltogether with shipping and custom duties, and there have to be limits...

Cheers,
Dennis

Dear Dennis,

Thank you, but no need to remove your post. It adds spice :)

My son lives in Spain and is going back Tomorrow.

He can mail it from there, saving you shipping and no taxes.

If you wish, please send PP 'friends and family' to: alberto.guirola at gmail.com

Hi Dennis,

I’ll be in Germany end of September and can take the trim piece with me and ship it from there (it’ll be less than €10 to ship).

Hi Alberto,

Just woke up and judging from your reply here, the ALFABB PM reception on your computer doesn´t work!
Have sent you 3 separate PM:s yesterday evening (Europe time), the first and early one not much important, but in the two others I asked you how much I should send to your PP account, considering addition of the shipping charge from Spain that is unknown and that I´d like to know in advance, alternatively how we will proceed.

I have two 105 Bosch generators and would like to buy brushes. Send PM.

I have been buying Alfa parts since 1968 and parts were expensive then and prices are lower when compared to inflation. I have parts that I collected over the years and am throwing out parts that I do not want to keep.

Hello Dennis,

Please P.pal, friends and family to: alberto.guirola at gmail.com
Regardless of shipping charges, I am guessing $10, so please send $110.
My son will take the part today regardless.

Thank you!

Kind regards,
Alberto

Hello Alberto,

Payment of $110 sent, please let me know how much did you receive, there was a fee on "friends & family" too, even when transfering from my PP dollar balance, so I tried the other option "payment for an item", if you received less than $110 please let me know and I´ll send the difference.
