Just spray some salt water on the metal that needs removed and wait a couple weeks.....
Oil cooler, yup.

.( i need a wee bit more room for an oil cooler)
Where are you planning on putting the cooler? I'll be trying to put one in later this winter or early spring and I'd be curious to see what kind of mounting position you came up with. I'm going to be challenged with putting in both an oil cooler and an intercooler.

...i am useing a mazda rx7 oil cooler..it will fit in front of the water rad. and at the bottom, nice and low so no drain back,, the oil cooler is a bit to wide but by luck this is a good thing. the cooler hoses will be on the drivers side and will run in that space between the rad.mount and the frame.. sort of were the fresh air pick up is on my bosch spider..

Best regards,
Where the heck are you guys driving that you need an oil cooler? The surface of the sun?

Usually I have enough trouble just trying to get the seven quarts up to temperature.

Not the surface of the sun, just the track, and I also tow a trailer... :) BTW, Alfa offered an oiler cooler kit for series 3 Spiders. From the Accessories Catalog:
