My 1991 Spider's passenger window is getting more tempermental by the day.

It usually goes down fine, but hesitates coming back up. Sometimes it will get about halfway up, then stop. Then I roll it down all the way again, then try to get it up again. we repeat this several times until it gets tired of enraging me, and finally goes all the way up.

Is there a fix for this ailment that can be performed by the simplest of men with the simplest of tools??

Thanks!

1st try a lil silicon in the runners, it might be sticking.

if your talking about an electric window, they are cable operated. make sure nothing is caught up in the cable, I had the door inner plastic catch in the cable & it kept trying to wind through the motor.

grease the cables whilst you have the door card off.

I had a similar problem on my 1991 Spider and it turned out that the cable clamp was loose. The motor would run and wind the pulley, but the cable would just slip through the clamp.

It took me about an hour to disassemble the door panel, tighten the clamp, and put the door back together.

It's called "Viagra"! :D

Seriously, my Spider had the same ailment. In my case the cables were starting to get kinked up.
