What if the tank sealer starts peeling off after some years? Maybe it would be enough to leave it with the metal prep?

There is an internal filter in the tank, partly consisting of a fine mesh which use to be damaged and for what I know, Tony at Alfastop (UK) sells a complete replacement filter, but its not cheap.
