Read through all the posts on diagnosing and finding a replacement for the NLA Bosch 7-pin relay. Dumbfounded that replacements were not available from US suppliers I ordered the HUCO from Europe. Also ordered a Herth+Buss from the UK via amazon.com but after two months the order has gone nowhere, it may never be filled.

Then in a roundabout conversation on a Volvo forum (brickboard.com) I mentioned the struggle. A helpful fellow offered a link to pelican parts where it appears that the VEMO relay is now available, BMW Fuel Pump Relay Vemo V20-71-0001 13.63.1.276.264 4046001292644 V20710001 13-63-1-276-264 13631276264 13 63 1 276 264 V20.71.0001 V20 71 0001 | Pelican Parts
Their shipping price starts to put it on par with the HUCO option, but presumably it would arrive sooner.

Make sure it shuts off the fuel pump correctly. Some of these relays don't cut off fuel supply when the engine stops running. That would be very dangerous in an accident.
Right! Very good point. That's why I didn't bother with the KAE relay Pelican also lists. Multiple folks here have said it doesn't perform this essential function. No such talk about the HUCO.

For posterities sake, I'll paste the list of relay part numbers I gathered in my search (please verify each before use):
