The fuel needle for the gauge just doesn't stay put in one place, moves a lot, when I am driving or when simple the car is just running. I checked for faulty grounds and everything seems to be good. Do I need a need fuel sending unit? Is the sending unit hard to get?

thanks in advance.

cheers:rolleyes:

If it moves while you're sitting still, something is maybe wrong. If it moves while you're driving the car, typically that's due to the gas sloshing, and the lack of any electrical "damping" in the gauge. It's an unintentional accelerometer. Has it always done this, or is this a change?

fuel sender takes ground from the tank which takes ground around its seat (body). Many times before the screws around the tank seem to be ok so to give the ground, but they are rusty or loose. To check if the tank is really grounded , take a wire conect it to the sender's upper metal with one screw there and ground the other end firmly to the body. If things go better then check the tank's screws one by one.
