My '82 Spider has a rattle heard front left and felt a little through the steering when I am coming to a slow stop. I replaced all the tie rods, control arms and bushings last year. Had the alignment done, and nothing noticed then. I'm thinking it must be the steering gear or something related to it. Before I start digging, any advice? Will start up on jacks to see what might be loose or worn or gapped.

Loose wheel bearing? Rough brake disk and/or something between the pads and the disk?

I got bit by a loose sump guard. I could hear it and feel it through the steering wheel. Easy check, easy fix!
