Hi guys - picking at the '73 Spider and had to reinstall the front bumper mounting pins and address where the DPO had, apparently, installed a tow bar.

The front bumper is now ready to be re-mounted but I am not sure how much of a gap on the side there is supposed to be. That is to say how big of a gap from the end of the bumper to the start of the fender is there from the factory?

Thanks!

Hi guys - posting a picture to better explain what I am asking. I am referring to the gap in the picture below where the yellow arrow is. Should the bumper be tucked back into the front fender opening OR should there be a gap between the end of the bumper and the fender opening?

I've seen gaps in pictures ranging from 1/4 inch to several. Is a small gap OK if it is more visually pleasing since it reduces from overhang? This car will never be more than a (hopefully) solid driver but I still want to get her a right as possible.

Thanks!

One this car, not a US car apparently, there is almost no gap.

Here, USA car, there appears to be about a two inch gap.

Same here:

Thanks!
