For sale: 1987 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce. Black exterior, tan interior. 117,417 miles. $4,500 OBO. Purchase in 2012 from private seller. Owner had died, and brother was selling the car. Car located in Fishers, Indiana (northeast suburb of Indianapolis.) I drive it to and from work a few times a year…a couple hundred miles (at most) a year. Kept in garage for until last summer, when I purchased exterior cover to keep outside of the house.
It’s not perfect, but so much fun to drive! This is my second ’87 Veloce. I am not very mechanical, but for my needs/wants, the car is solid. Some paint scratched; some flaking paint on front bumper; surface rust on driver’s side mirror. The driver’s seat rocked a little when I bought it, so I wired it in place. Has A/C, but it needs to be repaired. Electric windows go up and down…slowly. I believe the top is original. No tears, but not perfect…securing top can be tricky. Runs well. Typical gear synchro issues but doesn’t cause problems. Speedometer doesn’t always work, but accurate. Tachometer and all other gauges operate properly. Gas tank and filters professionally replaced with appropriate/matching tank. Newer tires, new battery. Comes with cover and trickle charger.
Can be enjoyed immediately…not necessarily a “project car”, but skilled hands could make it a top-notch specimen!
Only driven to and from work a few times a year during summer…a couple hundred miles (at most) a year. Kept in garage for until last summer, when I purchased exterior cover to keep outside of the house.
