This is the "gearbox" forum. Guess that includes clutch by association? I'm rebuilding my 105 hydraulic clutch gearbox, so I'll go with it.
Simple question...does the washer in the diagram below much matter? I think it is supposed to go where I am pointing in the picture farther below...
Just posting a reference for a method of doing this for a 105 gearbox when it is fully disassembled in case useful to anyone at some point. Didn't find one posted elsewhere on the BB.

I have heard that the automatic in 91 and newer Spiders is really bad. Can anybody speak to that from personal experience? I would like to buy my wife an automatic Spider but know nothing about the tranny.

Cleaning an early non-moly gearbox case for reassembly. Noticed to hole in the case in pic below that seems plugged with some sort of sealant. Is this normal?
Hole leads into the shift rod. It’s the hole with two notches next to it.
