lets just dive into it... yesterday im driving along, all the sudden steam starts billowing from under the hood. I go investigate today and its just a blown hose, the small one located under the distributor.

I take off the plug wires and distributor cap go gain better access. Labeling all the plug wires so I don't screw it up.

obtain new 3/4 hose from autozone, hook it up and problem solved. so I thought...

put the distributor cap back on, reattached plug wires and fire her up. its idling rough. the check engine and ABS lights come on, and I can hear and feel a vacuum coming from the hose below the fuel pressure regulator hose (the name is eluding me right now). if I block the vacuum with my finger, it smooths out.

Any suggestions?

Vac hose feeds vac tank in left wheel well for cruise control and emissions.

As for 3/4 hose for your repair it has to be super thin walled hose not regular bulk heater hose.

As Steve said that line goes to the cruise control accumulator. If you don't want or don't use your cruise control just block it off and be done with it.

Just an FYI an "accumulator" is like a storage tank for vacuum. It stores the stuff as well as providing a buffer as it were so when vacuum is needed, there's minimal fluctuation as it's drawing from a reserve. ciao, chris

The vac tank hose that should be hooked to intake goes to also supply vacumn to evaporative carbon cannistor near vac ball tank inside left fender area above horns.

It is best that you find end of black plastic-like tubing that was hooked to intake port. It had a 90 degree molded rubber end on it originally and somebody replaced it with that fabric covered hose.
