Has anyone fitted an engine and gearbox to a 105 with at least the front half of the propshaft fitted. i'm contemplating trying this as fitting the bolts to the donut while lying on my back under the car is a pain ( i'm getting too old for it too ).

cheers Ian

Yes. That is my preferred approach for removal and installation. It is important to be gentle with the propshaft to avoid damage. Otherwise, I don't recall any particular issues.

I'm sure it's doable. It's just a tradeoff between lying on your back fiddling with the donut and having to maneuver such a long assembly on the engine hoist. While an engine installation can be done as a one-man job, I'd think it would be impossible without a helper (preferably two) if you are adding the propshaft to the mix.
