Finally found a GTAm Airbox

As you can appreciate, it appears someone added the glass hump over
the box. The remainder is ally.

The mounting bosses for the injectors are somewhat misshapen, some
longer, some shorter. I wonder why.
The airhorns have been screwed to the box with tiny bolts and nuts.

I would appreciate any comments and suggestions.

Regards, Alberto

Thank you for the comments.
How would you go about restoring it without altering originality?

My suggestion: Leave the hump as you can't see it when installed and.... maybe it was an experimental AD solution.
Do you know its origin or on which cars it was used?
No clue as to provenance, but if it was made out of alloy, I am assuming a factory piece. The fender will most likely need to be pounded out as even the smooth humpless boxes are a tight fit.

Performance wise. it makes sense to leave the hump, as the distance to the wall is vastly superior, thus promoting better airflow.

Besides, I think that it is really cool to have a vintage part with potential history. Hopefully someone will know about it?

Possibly Tony Adriaensens? This box does not appear in his quite vast photo collection of AD parts in the new 'Alleggerita' book.

Anyone have his mail handy?

GTAm airbox

Hallo Alberto,

due to your PM , here is my statement:

1. the boxes are used by Autodelta not only fopr GTAm , also for GTA 1300 testa stretta.
I know no differences , same volume and attachement.

2. Your part seems to be original or copy from original , but modified with the bubble on the
rear, why? Dont know , perhaps like Alfar7 said to enlarge the airvolum .

3. the different axle of the jetinserts is not important. I would think, the car used in, had an accident or so, so the box was deformed.

See a photo of one of my boxes.

regards Uli
