Hi I have been a member since last July. This is my first post.I have a 77 spider, and I have to replace the lower front fender and outer rocker.I would like to know if the fender at the bottom that meets the rocker is double thickness.I have work on north american cars and they have doubled metal at the fenders edge. The reason I am asking is I bought repro fender parts and they don't have the metal doubled up.Some one repaired the fenders and rockers with body filler so I do not know what they looked like new.
Thanks for any help in advance.

Yes, there is structure behind the lower front fender that is very close to the surface, so cut carefully and don't go too deep.

Check the lower part of the rear fender, as well.
You probably will have to make repairs on the lower part of the middle rocker and even on the inner. All are very important structurally.
