what engines have people put in there Spider. has anyone fitted a V8 ?

In the 60's a buddy if mine put a Ford 289 in a Guilia Spider. The car was fast until it came to a corner. The handling was horable.

However, there are plenty of "modern" peformance engines out there that would make an interesting conversion if you could work out the oil pan issues.
