So, as per an earlier thread, I was having some issues with the engine temp of my 76’ spider rising to north of 200 in the summer heat. Added the missing fan shroud and now all is well with that.

Now, we’ve had some single digit temps (Centigrade) in the morning and the spider is only warming up to about 150 degrees f even after 20 minutes of driving.

Is this normal or am I having a thermostat issue?

Probably thermostat, is there a thermostat installed? Is it correct and blocks off the bypass? Is your temp gauge somewhat accurate?

After 20 minutes of driving, what happens with your oil pressure? Is it in the normal range when the engine is at normal operating temp, or on the high side?

Assuming the gauge is reading accurately... The thermostat could be opening too early or sticking open.

Could be a faulty sender also. Get a sender matched up to the gages, Jaeger or Veglia
