What does the engine number mean or represent?

AR01544☆610485☆

Replacing starter and the Bosch part number is
0 001 311 110 which references a 130 teeth flywheel. I read that after 85 Alfa used a 131 teeth flywheel?

Trying to get all the details of my engine and parts to confirm if perhaps work was done by previous owners. Thanks.

I went through this recently and ended up buying an aftermarket starter that works with either the 130 or 131 tooth. There are some old threads on the BB discussing modification of starters to swap between flywheels. The main issue is that the teeth may not fully engage if you mix and match.

Thanks for your reply. I will keep searching the BB for more threads on this topic I brought the starter to a repair service centre who has worked on Bosch starters I will soon find out the condition of it. Thanks. Take care.

Alfa went to the 131 tooth on 1975 and used it through 1989.

In 1990 they went to the 130 tooth.
