Very curious about the different degreasers out there. Checking the labels and most say not to use them on aluminum. I was wondering how you all felt about that. Have you had any issues with them. Do you guys use engine degreasers on your engines? If not, what do you use?

Removed the engine and tranny tonight and did the engine bay with heavy mix of dawn detergent and then gave in and used Gunk degreaser, lol. That was some work, over thirty years of grit.

Plan on cleaning the engine and tranny soon so any advice would be great.

Gunk foamy will not hurt aluminum. Regular gunk seems fine as well, but does not de-crud Alfa stuff quite as well for me. Just my opinion. Use HOT water.

I'm still looking for a good degreaser that's safe to use on my powder coated cam cover. Anyone have any experience in that department?
