Hello all. My 79 Alfetta GT is having spark issues again. Put in a up graded alt from APE's ran great... Now I like to remove the old "black box" Western Control ignition. But can't get to the pickup because of the centrifuge doo hickey won't come off. See pictures... Thanks. T

I believe you have to remove the distributor from the car. The drive tang is attached to the other end of the distributor shaft.

Right. You need to pull the distributor and remove the shaft (along with the centrifugal advance mechanism). A pin holds the drive gear to the base of the shaft - drive out that pin, remove the gear, and the shaft can be withdrawn. Make sure the gear goes back on with the same orientation, or your timing will be 180 off.
