Hello! Has anyone replaced a stock ECU with a stock ECU BMW 0280001108? The same with a BMW air-flow meter.

Hi Bogdan,

You can tell by all the responses that this was not a popular swap.

On the other hand, the larger AFM swap was fairly popular idea back in the day when everyone thought (through casual observation) that great power could be gained by opening-up the intake. Me included.

This was usually accomplished through replacing the AFM with larger one and swapping over the rheostat components under the black cover and pin block connector. Then you'd have to play with the spring tension and try to get it right.

This usually didn't turn-out so great for the daily driver folks but could net some small gains in the race crowd who live at WOT a lot.

What you have to know about the various L-Jet systems is that the algorithms used in the (non-programmable) ECU's firmware use known values or range of values in it's input/output control of the injectors, and therefore would be best to swap the whole system (using the term "best" rather carelessly). E.g. AFM, ECU, & Injectors together. Assuming the other sensors were the same.
