/Back in the day apparently one would dunk these webers into carb fluid for a day or 2 to clean them up before rebuilding. I have a 66 sprint that is going through that process , today no one has the liquid anymore apparently its too hazardous not eco friendly, something like that.
Can anyone tell me the best option on getting the carbs cleaned, not sure what is needed to rebuild, I know a specialist should be doing the rebuild as its no easy task, thanks in advance Kempton Toronto

You can buy Carby Cleaner in aerosol at any auto parts shop. It's really powerful stuff, so you will need chemical resistant rubber gloves - try not to get the stuff on your skin or breathe in the fumes. Best used outdoors.

I've cleaned my carbies several times due to an old fuel tank full of crap (since replaced).

I just removed/cleaned/replaced the parts systematically, rather than completely disassembling and rebuilding the entire carby. It's pretty simple if you do it this way.

Cheers,
Wazza
