Can anyone speak to the driving position of the early step nose sprint GTs vs. the later GTV's.

Once I got to sit behind the wheel of a GTV and found my knees interfered with the steering wheel.
Decided against getting one, ended up with a 101 spider.
What about the Sprint GT ? Is the steering wheel position different ?
Does it better accommodate a taller drivers ?

1600 wheel is a bit farther forward I think. At least it has no dish, though it does have a thicker hub. Maybe all comes out the same. From 1971 on, hanging pedals compared to floor pedals earlier. In general folks seem to prefer hanging pedals, and they make clutch and brake work easier.
To me the later seats have a bit thinner padding so you're closer to the floor, but not by a lot.

Hi Andrew: Thanks for the insights. Totally understand what you means about the pedals, steering wheel, etc. These are great looking cars I have to revisit this. I expect the different pedals steering wheels likely favor different driving positions.

I'm 5'7". I had 20 years in a 74 GTV, fit fine. Now have had a 66 GTV for 5 years, like it better in every way, but that's all subjective. I fit in both fine. A 6'1" friend has a 66 also, he fits OK too.
