Driver needed for LeMons Race, Mar. 26-27
The ultimate Race Deal: Arrive and Drive
You’ve heard of it, and dreamed of driving in it but didn’t have a car that met the standards of the 24Hours of Lemons.
We have a LeMons car but need another driver by Jan 28 for the March 26-27 Race. Also may need someone for Reno-Fernely in May.
Experienced team (1 race at Buttonwillow and the car did not break or crash out) needs another driver for the LeMons race at Sears Point/Infineon raceway. 2 days, 7 hrs a day.
Cost: $100 entry + $50 for 2011 Lemons Driver License, + $ something to help with car entry and maintenance costs ($350??)
Car: ’91 Mustang LX, automatic. Full cage and no annoying decoration, yet. 2:26 at Buttonwillow on street tires and auto trans. Car has serious good brakes.
Personal equipment: A real helmet, SFI suit and shoes.
Driver Qualifications: Do you have a Calif Driver’s License? Are you willing to enter a for-real race with A LOT of cars on the track? Do you want to get some serious hours of track time at Sears Point? And have the $$$$$. Some racing or lots of time trial experience required.
Details on LeMons racing: Prices and Rules
Details of the team - email: [email protected] Paul Blankenship
Contrary to what you may have heard LeMons racing is pretty much NON CONTACT racing, not a destruction derby. This is real endurance racing. The LeMons people know how to use the Black Flag to get maniacs off the track and thrown out, so if you think you will just drive a little and crash the car out, do not respond.
