We were discussing the dream car issue with some buddies the other day it came down to this:

All alloy GT custom order in the Ferrari factory with the V12 fiorano engine and trans. The body would have the special super secret rustproofing procedure the fioranos have.

Are we talking new or old or anything goes if you have the $. I'd like a TZ1 and 2, a 1967.5 Datsun 2000 roadster, a 1971 Nissan Skyline GT-R, a Ferrari 250 GT California, an Auto Delta GTAM (based on the 1750 GT), a Ferrari F355 would be nice as well. An Aston Martin Vanquish will do nicely as well. I guess I'd have to throw a Lotus Exage in as well. A Porsche GT3 and or a 993 turbo.

I'm sure there are a few more that make the list, but thats a good start. Does anyone see a pattern with that list?

I think it was 1996 inside the magazine Sports Car International, they drove the Carrozzeria Castagna Vittoria based on the Alfa Romeo 75, I will try and skan some pictures tonight and post them, that was what I would call a dream car, you show to Carrozzeria Castagna your designs and they build it for you, or that what it was written inside the article.
Takis.
If i was sick-rich my toys would turn all the way around - ww2 fighters restoration and of course flying but that is really big big boys turf. I mean we can chew on the trusty ol alfa romeo 4-in line dohc and change cams trick the timming, change this and that BUT that's chicks stuff (no offence) compared to an Alisson fighter engine , a spitfire toy would be great.(got carried away mouth foaming etc\)

-Blplt in this particular fantasy (mine) you can also have factory aproved engine swaps(the fiorano in the 105 sick dream above) or have it stock like you prefer.

-Takis man, money does turn the world around.
Turbo deux chevaux

I like this one! But throw in a turbocharger and some bias-ply whitewalls. :D

Honest answer:

In the late afternoon in the summer of 1974 I was on a tour bus driving alongside Lake Geneva (Switzerland) towards Geneva. The windows were open for cooling and I heard an engine noise. A kind of high-pitched whine.

It was faint and would rise and fall over time, with the occasional burble as the throttle was eased off.

Quickly though, it got louder and finally ear shattering!

A bright yellow Ferrari Dino blew past the bus, on the 2 lane curve-riddled road, at 90 miles and hour or more. It was only an instantaneous moment in time, but it was more than enough to do the job.

The image is a permanent fixture in my mind.

I want that car. Color is unimportant. That SOUND, that FORM, that SPEED, the AGILITY, is what I wanted.

Would I change anything? Yes. The design of the Dino tail does not match the voluptuous front form. It is too blocky and chiseled. In a way, like the Alfa Spider Kamm tail. But, at least the Spider tail is much better executed, IMHO.

Alas, I shall never realise that dream unless I inherit a bazzillion samolians.

My Alfa Spider will do for now. :)

If it must be a GTV...

Then I might start with Jorge Mazlumian's machine.

N I C E!

Other than some rare factory machine made from pure unobtainium, or rare one-off prototype, I like this car.

Dream cars

I Have mine:cool:. I thought of this 40+ years ago. Foreground, my 65 Ausca veloce spider, GTA engine and running gear. Background my 275 GTB Ferrari.
I've owned the Alfa from new, bought the 275 wrecked in 70 and put it back together.

No one mentioned airplanes. Thats opening a really really big door. One of the list would have to me a Martin Mars flying boat. The inside all redone as a liveaboard. Since $ is no object, feeding 4 radial engines is no big deal. Rather than a flying boat, think fling yacht. I think I'd need both a Merlin and a Griffin powered Spitfire/Seafire, a Hawker Sea Fury (or 2, the stock one and the race one), perhaps a completely raced out Yak 3 (cheap, light, potentially very fast.) As for civilian aircraft, a Dehavland Beaver on floats, a Cessna 195, a Spartan Executive, and a 1959 Cessna 175 (I have many fond memories of a certain yellow and brown one with the id # of N7177M)

That will just scratch the surface.

-Robert that's perverted man.
-Hey Gordon umm do you have any kids? Would you like to adopt me? I'm a 27 year old cop from Greece. I've seen some really nice toys in this forum ...I would invade your garage anytime! That particular Ferrari and spider are in my most wanted list, i think i could afford the spider not with Gta stuff though-Nice thinking by the way-Does it kick the **** out of porches?
Do you have any photos of the Gtb crashed and the work involved? Actually any pics engine, interior.Tell me the story
The Brera show car, Canguro, the second one-off Ferrari 250GT Bertone, the 2600 HS Bertone one-off. Also, I just saw a TZ2 in the metal the other day, and it's cool.
Gotta Go with the DINO... an odditty 4 a Frarrrriiii but boootiful.
