Guys,

I have a problem with my doors opening too far, and they knock against the front quarter panels and chip the paint on the outside of the door. Happens on both doors. The previous owner attached a leather strap on the bottom of the drivers door to stop it, but it's not very effective. Surely this can't be right. I have taken a photo of the metal strap that is part of the upper hinge. Can anyone tell me if this is broken or missing something.

Cheers,
Wazza.

Yes, the stock check strap is toast.......
You will have to get the replacement parts from a supplier and then remove the block from the inside of the door and drive out the pin @ the hinge to fit the new parts.

Most of the usual suspects would have door limiting straps. Try Robert at Manning Motors or perhaps even Formula 1 at Leichhardt (not sure if they still exist).

Door Check Straps

The pin slipped through the hole and let the check strap go. Any idea where I can get just the pin that hold the strap to the quarter panel?
