Does anyone have a detailed diagram of the fuse box on an '86 Alfa Spider Graduate?

Some wires came loose from the fuse box on my '86 Alfa Romeo Spider Graduate and now my car won't start. I don't where the wires go back in the fuse box. Does anyone have a detailed diagram of the fuse box wiring for this vehicle? Any info. would be appreciated. Also, anyone know where I can get a 1986 owner's manual for this Alfa? I tried Ebay but no one has one currently for an '86.

Thanks.

First, welcome to the BB!

In the "Electrical" forum you will find a sub-forum "Electrical Diagrams" with a sticky "Available Wiring Diagrams." BB member "papajam" is the resident expert, and may be able to help you... Please keep in mind that while there may not be a diagram for the exact year, the info from other years will still be applicable to your car.

Best regards,
Welcome!

Yes, there are diagrams available for the 86, two diagrams for 1987 and one for 1988. They are not listed on the available list as the fuelpump wiring is not complete. But everything else is.

I can supply you with a copy of an original owners manual too if need be.

I just emailed you a PDF of the owner's manual. You can find all the manuals here:

Thanks!

Awesome! I can't thank you enough! How would I get a detailed diagram of the wiring into the fuse box? I checked the manual on page 74 and it shows the fuse box but doesn't show the wiring. Any help is endlessly appreciated!

Thanks.
The last year that Alfa put wiring diagrams in Spider owners manuals was 1984.
I'll email you a color diagram this evening.

Thank you so much! This board is awesome. Thanks to all who replied trying to give me help and information. I will look for your email tonite with the diagram. I'll be donating soon to this board to help keep it alive and going--it's a GREAT resource for us Alfa Romeo buffs.

Best regards,
Patti
Can you send to me too?

I've just purchased a beautifully maintained '87 Veloce. As of now only one thing appears to not be working, the heater fan switch. Want to see if it's a fuse, but have no idea which one to check. I just ordered the CD you referenced but would like to start working right away, so could you send the fuse box diagram to me also? Much appreciated!:)

Scroll down to the 'Electrical' section and find the thread about wiring diagrams. Send PapaJam a PM (click on his 'handle' in the upper left corner and choose 'send a Private Message'). Ask for a copy of his excellent wire diagrams (include your email address). He'll reply with a .pdf file or two.

He'll also ask you to consider making a donation to the BB. Totally voluntary but very worthwhile - it helps keep this BB alive.

Meanwhile, here's a snip out of the Alfa Owner's Manual:

Garcia,
There are two different diagrams for the 87 Spider. Please let me know if your fusebox has bullet or blade style fuses so I can send you the correct diagram.
Can you send to me too?
It would be greatly Appreciated!!

I also sent you copies of Papajam's color coded wire diagrams. Check your Conversations - click on the mini-avatar in the upper right corner of the page.

"As of now only one thing appears to not be working, the heater fan switch. Want to see if it's a fuse"
In another post you said it was an '84 and fuse #7 was burning thru?
"I finally was able to find a gem of an 84 Sider Veloce"

so 84 or 87?

Anyway lets presume 87....
if it was the fuse, the back ups, the cigar lighter, the speedo would all be out as well.

the heater fan is a weak point (well, one of them;)) on the spider.
when you flick the switch [speed 1, real slow, or speed 2, not much better] does the dash fan light come on?
If so, that would suggest switch is OK.

look under the dash above the gas pedal and you will see the connections for the fan....apply direct power to the red or to the blue (they are the 2 speeds) and see if the fan spins...

If not it could be seized....try wiggle your fingers into the side vent and downwards (slide the control sort of half way to get in there) and you can just touch the fan, or use a pencil or something....does it spin real easy or is it hard to turn.
