Has he talked to Cindy Lauper?? She is my new "go to guy" for climate science!!
Larry Fink's letter to CEO's

"climate change is driving a profound reassessment of risk and asset values",

"in the near future - and sooner than most anticipate - there will be a significant reallocation of capital."

Well, there's no fool like an old fool...
What was he saying in the '70s about the coming ice age? Is he a climatologist or does he just play one on the telly? What about all of the pandemics that were going to destroy life as we know it? And....
is he more reliable than Cindy Lauper??

Economically I think, like most things, it will be cheaper, or have less impact, the earlier a country starts the transition to a low-carbon based economy, plus the obvious benefits to our host planet.

England moved their economy from coal and mining decades ago to banking (I think). Was painful, but procrastination achieves nothing.

Yes China, and others, may have the upper hand (they already do as largest holder of US Treasury securities: Impact of the Chinese Economy on the U.S. Economy in 2018) short term, but this is not a short term issue. It's a complex issue, but I think how much money we all have might have to play second fiddle; noting I say this as a middle class person ...

Pete...again when the second biggest economy ..china..is label as a developing country, which does not have to adhere to the paris agreement...when they sign on actually do it, then i will be convinced this is more then economic warfare

Shouldn't the climate crazies go after the biggest polluters if it really is an emergency?
Shouldn't India be building clean Atomic energy plants?
Maybe it is not such a big problem.

Did they catch all of the folks who set the fires in Australia to bring attention to global warming?
They would seem to be a major problem for the environment.

But guys, if global warming isn’t real why are you worried about which countries are the biggest polluters? Just sayin’ 😉
because jobs and peoples livelihoods are at stake ....it seems unfair that the american worker must pay, at the expense of china...still have not heard a good argument why china has different rules under the accord then us...the people at the united nation are unelected , why should we liten to them...they do not have our best interest at heart....if you are comfortable having someone in brussels determine your future, then stay in the european union...but most in the UK awoke at voted for brexit

The "arsonists set the fires story" was a beat up, based on misreading the data. There were some, but the stories included all of 2019, and the definition of "arson" was very very broad. Most where people who were warned for having a BBQ, or using spark emitting equipment on a total fire ban day.

Precisely. A total social media beat up, what we Australians would call a furphy 😊

@GretaThunberg
in Ecuador or China where the real polluters are. No.. it’s the West they are after. Greta & her puppet masters don’t care about the environment. It’s all just a political agenda to control every aspect of our lives & deindustrialize the West

@101/105guy , thanks for this graph. Here's my opinion.... Yes, some countries are worse than others. There's no denying that. Because some countries appear to not be doing anything does not make it right that the rest of the world not do anything either.

All countries should do what they can to bring down these levels. This does not mean "we" force things on other countries. Countries like China and India who have large numbers of people who live in poverty can't make them install solar panels and stop using things that "pollute".

For those who feel it is a huge government conspiracy to control everything in our lives, there are places you can go live there aren't any laws. They might be happy living in Syria or Libya.
osso..not sure setting up a straw man argument is fair...never said anything about not having laws.....perhaps china should not spend so much on the military if they have a large portion of poor and cannot adhere to the paris accords...as far as a conspiracy, why would a UN official, who works in the global warming section, say the real reason is to bring down capitalism.....i know...lets ignore this, they really did not mean it...

I don't believe you are right here. Greta doesn't like to travel because it is bad for the planet as it produces CO2. I've just read more about her message and it is to all world leaders.

If you want to talk about agendas to control our lives, let's discuss religion

"perhaps America should not spend so much on the military if they have a large portion of poor and cannot adhere to the paris accords" ... Just having fun, but actually agree with you, but that is a socialist view, i.e. put your people first.

And yes capitalism has caused this mess, but we need to come up with a viable alternative
