It seems the bearings in my distributor have gone bad. My distributor makes quite the racket while the engine is running. I have a second distributor, but it seems it also has bad bearings. There's a lot of play in the shaft and spinning it by hand yields noise, so I can only imagine it would make the same noise if installed in the car.

I'd like to rebuild one, and I've found a few websites that list the step by step directions on how this is done. However, I've heard Bosch doesn't sell rebuild kits to the public. Is this true? I've spent some time looking for one online, and I can't find one. Does anyone have a source for a Bosch distributor 0237322001 kit or know how to go about getting one?

I have a source where I could get a used one, but my curiosity is peaked now and I think it would be fun to rebuild one. Any thoughts out there?

You would likely be better off replacing a bad one with a sound replacement.
Is your`s a later fixed rotor type or the earlier version with the advance mexhanism in it?
