Folks: While driving, I hear a "noise" that synchs to engine speed, and I have a suspicion that it somehow may relate to the electric tach.
On the other hand, when not driving and just revving the engine, I hear the engine-speed related "noise", but the sound seems more pronounced, or "heavier". It could be that I may not notice this different sound when driving.
I'm hesitant to unplug the rpm and timing sensor leads since I don't know if that might "mess-up" the engine timing. I want to disable the tach to see if the "noise" I'm hearing inside the car goes away.
Thoughts?
THANKS! NIck
