The top was closed by a metal strip about 25cm high attached by tapping screws, which pressed a U section rubber seal against the fender.
One of the screw holes is visible in your photos.
The extreme top of the cavity on my car was also filled with a hard body putty.

Thank you for the Photos. After searching through all my parts and not finding the two strips. I was discussing how the strips must be made at the body shop, as one of the workers said that he removed them - hier they are.

So the car is COMPLET!!

Thank God!!!!

Yours look to be in much better condition than mine were.
Interestingly, yours appear to have been mounted horizontally.
Mine were vertical.

Even if you would have lost them, these are very easy to copy and fabricate. I have templates.
