You are correct about the "hiding behind a shield" aspect of internet life. The General was a perfect example of a person hiding. In the future I hope that there is more of a united coalition of moderators who deal with these problems. It should not have been left up to Snaidy alone (as he claimed) to rid the board of that type of juvenile babble. I'm thinking more Desert Storm than Iraqi Freedom.

Velocess,
Wow! SOmeone else from the west!!! With a few notable exceptions... i.e. SD and KY, this was turning into an East Coast and Australian chat room!
As for your Dessert Storm vs. Iraqi Freedom comparison... I'm not going to touch that one. :)
Cheers

Hmmm? I grew up in Canada, where the men are men and the moose are nervous. Must be a northern boy....Where abouts in Canada? Why did you move to the states. Got tired of hockey eh?

I'm from Montreal, but as I wrote you in another post, I have lived all over Canada, from the East to the West Coast...and I even spent some time in (shudder!!) T.O.

I moved to the States because my wife is from here, my boys and their Mom (my ex) live here and because the navy chose to send me here. Besides, even though I played hockey...I never spent too much time watching it. It's funny to watch the way people here react to things like when I say "he has a hockey-sock full of those", etc. :D

I guess there many things different between Canadians and Americans I find the spelling is too funny. Color nice and easy but we spell it colour. Many others but I have a brain fart and can't think.

Hockey sock yes not too many would understand that term.

Do you miss anything up here? Tim Hortons?

Two last question what do you do in the Navy?

Do ya think Primo could have had a shot at ya?

Thanks

Hmmm, a brain fart, huh? Bummer, you better get that part removed (vague reference to an old Monty Python Sketch).

I miss being able to get a 'Timmy's coffee' at ANY exit off ANY highway, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year!!! I also miss listening to the CBC (Communist Broadcasting Corporation, for those who don't know), hearing four-letter words on radio, watching soft porn on regular non-cable TV stations, hearing people actually complain loudly about the government, free medical care, French-language speakers, Poutine, St. Hubert BBQ sauce, Brador, Don Cherry, laughing at Ralph Klein, leaving my doors unlocked...yeah, I miss lots of stuff.

I am retired from the navy now, but before I retired, I was a 'line officer, executive branch' or Maritime Surface Officer (MARS) in Canadian terminology.

Primo? Nah...I know better than to bring a knife to a gunfight. I just would have shot him....even Primo wasn't tougher than a bullet.

From my time spent living in Detroit (some would call it a sentance), I certainly miss the French-Canadian strippers from Windsor. Especially a Phillipine-decended girl named Antoinette. About all I can say is "Hardyscheibe!!!!!!!!!!"

Yeah, but I didn't have to pay this girl :)

I'm always disapointed in the women in Vegas. No matter how normal they seem to be, they are all freaking hookers....I could tell many stories about how "I met this girl at a bar....she seemed to be normal....bought her a few drinks....talked for hours...."

I love Vegas, but now I take women there with me :)

Well, I won't comment about Strippers and Hookers...but having grown up in Montreal, I can tell you that French-Canadian women are truly uninhibited and very pretty. They have a very different attitude towards 'loving' than the rest of North-American women. ;)

Well, Larry Flint *was* a champion of the freedom to make fun of people in a public forum as long as it was so outrageous as to not be believed.

Mabye we are going full circle here :)

Boy, I still remember Antoinette though....that accent along with the dark skin, hair and eyes...I wonder what poor man she's tormenting these days? Still kinda wish it was me :)

French canadian women are indeed a rare breed....that's something that Canada needs to start exporting!!!

I got so many stories like that. Half the time I was too drunk to really tell they were working women and not regular civilians. Usually when I'd see a girl sitting in a bar alone in Vegas, I'd go talk to her if she was good looking.

The girls in club are teases. On occasion you can get one away from her friends but that's kinda hard to do. I've invited their friends along too sometimes, but that sometimes ended up me wearing their drink on occasion.

I'm with you, I take my own women to Vegas when I go. You get a hooker, it's gonna cost you. So might as well take one with you, it'll cost the same (hotel, food, drinks, etc.) and they won't walk out of the room when you're done...
