98 spider with new clutch at 60k service. now at 75k and clutch is depressed to the floor and will not rise. Felt a bit spongy last few days fluid fine any suggestions?

Chances are fair that your clutch pivot shaft has failed.

would anyone know aprox cost to replace i understand it will take 3-5 hours

I will sell you a good used one for $20 or you can get a special, high strength unit from John Ortakales (sp?) if he is still making them.

Are we discussing a 1998 Spider? Does it have the same pedal arrangement as our 'vintage' Spiders?
