Looking to rebuild box, preference for a close ratio set up. Is there a 5spd alfa box to fit my 33 ?
Also would like rear disc brake set up.. Am I dreaming?

5 speed close ratio box you can use from Sud 1.2 ti or since it is rare , use a Alfa 145/146 boxer gear box and change gears from sud one. 145/145 gearbox is better quality than 33.

Rear disk calipers bolt on you can use from 33 16v S ABS (if you find one from scrap or ebay , rare too).

Earler Boxes do need a slight modification to fit

Cant quite remember what ECU set up has the crank angle position sensor working of the fly wheel (1.5, 1.7 8V, 1.7 16V?) but this sensor gets in the way of the bell housing of "standard" carbed gearboxes, so technically they are not interchangable but the mod required is very easy I beleive. Grinder sorts it out

The 16v engines have the crank angle sensor jutting out and would foul the early 33 or sud gearbox. A small depression needs to be ground into the bell housing to fit a carburetted engine. A 5 minute job....
