Hi, I'm a decent but not great mechanic. I'm thinking about tackling changing my water pump on a V6 3.0 1991 164.

I've been told it's simple, but I don't have a shop manual or book to refer to.

I'll bring the alternator in to get tested/rebuilt (seems weak) if it's it's the kind of thing that's easy to do at the same time.

Do I need the book? Would someone be willing to post a scan of the procedure, or any hints that may help me successfully finish the job? Is it something I'd be better off bringing to a mechanic? (mine's been too busy for quite some time, and I'd really like to save the money if it's a reasonably straightforward job)

Thanks!

Steve

Having a bit of a hard time finding the appropriate posts, can you highlight the relevant ones? Thanks!
