Installing a new 12-pc carpet set in a Giulia. What is a good glue to use for the pieces that need holding down? Thanks.

weldwood contact cement is what was recommended to me by the local trim shop here in town. you can get it at any hardware store. It works great.
Thanks. Just checking to see if 40 year-old technology had moved on. Brush I presume for better application control especially on smaller pieces? Doesn't 3M make a similar product? I've used their spray on headliners before.

My plan was to leave what was there unless it is threadbare or rotten. The car is in pretty original shape, a '65; I hate to put Dynamat in it. Is there a good "vintage" repro product? I guess I should peek a bit more extensively before I pull the front. Just to be different, I put thick neoprene double-cloth-sided "wetsuit" material on my 69 spider but left the underlying tar-mat sound deadening material as it was in good shape.
