Off an 89 spider, this **** thing rattles like a MOFO. Any harm in removing it all together?

Ditch it. I think those things are designed to rattle, so you take it to Midas and they replace your whole system, plus brakes and rotors.

Mine is gone from my '89, before I ever got the car. I cut the one of the cat converter too. That was before I figured where the real vibration was coming from. I'll replace it next time it's handy.
