Had a recent email discussion with KenGTA, re: a carb support that came with a GTA jr motor he acquired. (1st photo). I checked my car to find I had a similar strut, but with holes in it, (2nd photo), another car I have has a standard carb support strut, anyone have any info as to the origin of these?

The 1300 GTAj race motor that that strut (first post) came with also came with that type of Fibre glass air box and a well used 1600 GTA Corsa. I never connected the 2, but maybe. What did the earlier Aluminum boxes use.

The 1300GTA short strut connects to the stud protruding from the underside of the Webers, as opposed to the airbox itself. The early 1600GTA aluminium cold-airbox had a reinforcement plate riveted which the strut bolted thru.
These early ones fatigue-cracked & fell apart eventually.

Late 1600 GTA on 848001 sporting the fiberglass airbox is like 1300 GTA shown by Ken, just longer for the additional block height. Unsure whether late Stradale with cross over air filter had it as well ...
