The GTV brake pedal ('74 2000 hanging) has a nicely sized tab for interfacing with the electric brake light switch. On mine, however, the brake switch makes contact with only the top edge of the pedal tab, rendering the tab's expanse useless. I recently removed the pedal housing and pedals for some work, but there isn't much room for reinstalling things incorrectly. Do others have this awkward switch alignment?

Old repair?

Was it perhaps broken and welded back together, slightly different?

My current Alfas are all standing pedal, so I'm guessing a bit. I used to have a hanging pedal car, so I sort of remember this detail.

The tab on the pedal is pretty substantial - I seriously doubt it could have gotten bent or broken off & rewelded.

But how substantial is the bracket that holds the switch? Any chance it has gotten bent? Can you twist it to move the switch so it contacts the pedal tab squarely?

Some of them are a pretty flaky fit, and sometimes folks bend the brake and clutch pedals leftward to accommodate bigger feet.
Can you bend the bracket the switch attaches to to align better?
