Since my '69 GTV is gone, its time to get to work on my '59 Sprint. It needs a nose job and some rust repair in the trunk where the battery goes. Does anyone have any suggestions as to who/where I should take it to? Conrad is the logical choice, but I can't afford him and I'm guessing he is pretty booked. I'd love to have the car driveable for next years show at Alameda.

Thanks,
Will

Wait, wha... gone? Last I heard you were getting appraisals. What happened?
The car was totaled. :( The rough estimate to fix it was $15k, likely more when it was all said and done. I got an appraisal of $18500, it still wasn't high enough to clear the total. I went to arbitration and I still haven't heard the outcome of the meeting. Remember, I was hit June 7th and here we are nearly into Dec and I still haven't had the mess resolved. In the mean time, I broke the transmission on my race car that I was using for a street car (its still street legal :D). I'm replacing the GTV with a beautiful '88 BMW M3 with 68K miles on it next week. I received a very unexpected financial boost that allows me to buy the M3 with out using all of the insurance $ from the GTV.
It was too good of a deal to pass up aside from the fact that its in Vancouver Canada. Its a US car so importing it back is pretty simple. (I've already done my homework on that.) I've wanted a one of these since they first came out in '88, longer than I wanted my GTV.

The GTV will live again, its headed up to Vintage Customs to be revived. It will return to the Bay Area. I'm kinda sad that it won't be mine anymore, but at least its not totally gone.

Hello,

I have a friend that is located in Santa Rosa, CA that does excellent bodywork and paint. He is currently doing my 69 Fiat 124 spider and eventually my 73 GTV.

If your interested in contacting him. Please let me know.

Thanks,

John,
It's been a while since you posted this, but is your friend in Santa Rosa still doing bodywork and paint?
