I have original shocks on the front of my '79 Alfetta and am considering front suspension upgrades. (Previous owner installed Konis in back.) I have read a lot of the forum discussions on this topic and am wondering if among Bilstein fans it's the B6 people have used, the "heavy duty" ones?

Bilstein HDs are the go-to upgrade Bilstein. Also known as the B6, they will work well with stock or moderately stiffer springs (or torsion bars). If you are lowering the car, look at the B8. And if you want to stay closer to stock damping, look at the B4.

I've had HDs on a pair of Porsches, a BMW, a Saab, and an Audi; and been very pleased every time. The ride is very controlled, but never harsh.
