I’m trying to build my confidence up on this. Does anyone have pictures of a trunk mount bike rack on a 164?
This rack has been on this car before so I’m assuming it works. Seems kinda wishy washy.

We have the Thule version of this type of rack on my wife's car (Toyota sedan).

These racks are meant for hatchbacks, or a sedan with a trunk lid that comes all the way down to the bumper. That way you can cinch the rack to the trunk lid only, making it nice and secure and allowing you to open the trunk without removing the rack. It should be very solid once you've tightened straps.

The way you have the top straps, I think you would be tweaking that spoiler badly. That bottom lip is not strong enough for the bottom straps. The side straps are too close to the edge of the lid and may pop off.

Maybe try putting the top pads on top of the trunk lid? I'm not sure if you have enough adjustment in those pivots there.

Sorry, not an Alfa, nor a Yakima rack, but it should look something like this:
