Hello, I have a 95 164 that has been sitting up for about a year. I took it to
get the emissions done, it failed and was told that the Catalytic converter went bad from sitting up to long. Can this be true????

Me too. Unless it accumulated water and ruined the cat. Drive it around for while to clear it up, like a week. Take it for an Italian tune up. An O2 sensor might be the answer.

Then get it Smogged and I am sure you will pass.
I have a good used Cat if you need it along with O2 sensors.

Use or injury are the usual causes of catalytic converter failure; not dis-use.

Are there any codes in the ECU?
