Hi All,
I've just bought a series 2 spider in London. The previous owner had owned it for 30 years and said that she was told by the original owner that it was a South African car brought over to the UK and registered in the UK in 1978.
I have just emailed Marco at AR and this was his reply...
"Dear Mister Stroud,
with reference to your request we are informing you as follows.
According to our documentation files, the chassis number AR 2472885 originally corresponds to an Alfa Romeo 2000 Spider RHD (105.27), manufactured on the 27th December 1976 and sold on the 29th December 1977 to Alfa Romeo UK, London.
Unfortunately, no further information available."
Curious regarding it's manufacture dates and no record of colour etc. Does anybody know if any series 2 spiders were assembled in South Africa?
Thanks,
David
