AROSC - 2008 Competition Schedule

Willow Springs has given up our 2008 track dates so I've posted them on the AROSC website. When we get dates from other tracks, dates/locations for our concours, etc., I'll update the schedule and post a notice here.

Please note:
There will be additional events
.
We just don't know where or when at present.

Hi Bruce,

Hey, you never know when somebody like me will show up in a rental car. In addition to posting the date on your web site (thanks!), any chance you could post them on the BB calendar?

It would be great to have a single calendar with dates from all over, for those of us who travel a lot.

It would certainly be possible to add our dates to the BB calendar. However, schedules change and with each additional copy/version of a calendar in existence, comes the responsibility to keep it current. I posted a link to the AROSC Competition Schedule rather than posting a list of dates because the link will always provide current/correct information.

As for showing up at one of our events, that would be great! Let me know when are you going to be out this way.
The Buttonwillow date, that is still up in the air right? Depends if BW accepts AROSC's application right?

That's correct.
We've got our Buttonwillow date now. I expect we'll run the usual TT, Race and Enduro again. I've updated our 2008 Schedule accordingly.

It looks like we'll be running some joint events with TCRA in '08. I'll post those as soon as we finalize things.

Both Laguna Seca and Sears tell us they have no weekend dates available for 2008. It seems that professional races and commercial driving schools take up so many weekends that there is little left for the rest of us. Would anyone be interested in a weekday (two days) event? Getting enough volunteers to run it might be a problem but it won't matter if there's not much interest.

Bruce,

Since I no longer have a racecar, and may not have another anytime soon, I would offer my service to help at an event at either of those two venues. it would be fun, as I've never been to either track.
I would consider weekday (work permitting) if we can get mon-tue or thur-fri so that the longer distance driving in one direction could be over a weekend...

BTW, you may want to correct the BW dates on the AROSC site (the two days are non-consecutive) :)

I am with Jes, Monday-Tuesday, or Thursday-Friday at Laguna would be awesome. The questions is how to guage interest? If I remember correctly, previous AROSC events at Laguna Seca sold out. Could we set a tentative date, allow a couple of weeks for people to send their applications in, and then cancel the date if we fail to generate enough interest?

I know I would be more than happy to take a couple of days off from work to hang out at Laguna with my Alfa friends. The kids can walk to school while I am gone.
Given enough notice, I would definitely make either of those venues for a weekday event.
I'm down for Laguna Seca during the week if it's a Mon-Tues or Thurs-Fri.
Sounds good to me. thurs-fri or Mon-tues.
There are som No. Cal. clubs like trackmaster? and No Cal Pantera? Maybe if the TCRA joint ventures go well perhaps a joint Laugna may work too and help the Alfa club out financially.
That's a good idea. A joint event will definitely boost attendance. Since this is Laguna, a lot of people will be willing to attend, even on weekdays.

One thing AROSC may want to consider is allowing 1-day entries since some participants may not be able to attend both days.

I'm pretty sure I'm gonna attend both days.
the Bay Area Lotus Club just sent an email for a one day event at Laguna on Jan. 29.
check their site if interested GOLDEN GATE LOTUS CLUB - Lotus Car Club.
these guys are Alfa friendly, and very easy going. i have joined them at a number of tracks and they put on a good show. they are also a good example of a local club that could be invited to a potential AROSC event at Laguna.
I'm also in for Laguna, next to a weekend.
Anybody has an extra muffler?
Jorge
Bruce, any sense of when we'll know whether/when we have Buttonwillow dates this year? I'm trying to put my spring schedule together. Thanks very much.

Andrew
